Commencing in the early 1970’s I always had about eight drawing boards with stretched paper on the go. Having studied through a period of cultural change in the late 1960’s, it was a period when anything seemed possible.
Myself, I was in love with steel engraving from the 19th Century… but I didn’t want this to have a nostalgic air. The drawings were mostly a blend of representation, diagram and measurement. Subject-matter was taken on as if it required explaining but often the answer remained obscure..however, something new emerged.
